29th Annual Charity Winter Bazaar 2017
The 29th Winter Bazaar took place on Saturday the 25th November 2017 at the Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya, Moscow. The Winter Bazaar has long been one of the most anticipated shopping events in the Russian capital attracting thousands visitors each year.
This year, the Winter Bazaar was held under the patronage of the IWC president, Mrs Gopa Chokroborty, wife of the ambassador of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation. Around 3000 guests enjoyed the Bazaar this year with visitors including government dignitaries, diplomatic society, businessmen, expats, artists and locals.
The IWC is delighted to announce that 5,070,231 Rubles were raised at this year’s Winter Bazaar. All profits raised from the funds will be used for essential work in the IWC charitable projects supporting the most vulnerable in Moscow.
The Bazaar raised money through sales of items provided by 44 embassies and several businesses. The embassy stalls sold authentic and local goods including national arts, crafts, souvenirs and other products unique to that country.
In addition to the selling of goods, embassies and businesses also donated many extravagant raffle prizes including golf trips weekends away, 5-star spa trips, bespoke tailored suit pieces, ethnic gold plated Columbian jewellery, which proved to make the raffle one of the main attractions at the Bazaar.
Attendees were able to enjoy a wide array of national performances by various artists from around the world who performed for the main duration of the day in the auditorium.
The International Women’s Club of Moscow would like to express its deepest gratitude to all the volunteers, participants, sponsors and partners of the Bazaar and look forward to the Winter Bazaar 2018!
